1. what would the educational requirements be for this particular profession? (type of Bachelors and in what major)2. what type and how much continuing education is required once you're working as an accountant? i hear you need to renew license every two years but not sure3. what training and/or further education is requires to get promoted in this profession? like do you need to take the cpa exam or get another major

what might be a good idea is to start with clerical/bookkeeping studies as these are simpler and more geared to the entry level job. then as you go, continue your study and your goal will be to become a certified public accountant or CPA. the best thing for you to do is go see a counselor at your community college or call some schools and see what they offer/how they do it.

Well last time I grauduated most programs now have accountants being in a 5 year program. As for certifications it depends what branch of accounting you want to go into. If you want to be a CPA - then the 5 year degree and continuing education will be required as well as I believe a two year work exp.But accounting runs the gamut and you can find some two year degrees that will let you go into bookeeping, etc.My favorite fields are forensic or auditing - that adds some spice to a less then thrilling field.Good Luck!

You can get a bachelors in accounting and still be come an accountant. That is what my cousin did. He can only work for a CPA or a company. The license thing is if you want to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

It is generally regarded as a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in accounting. It will require multiple semesters of accounting courses.Most programs run no less than four years. Upon graduation and completing an experience requirement you can sit for the CPA exam. Continuing education requirements vary by state. Oklahoma requires 40 hours per year. Most employers pay for continuing education.
