Long storry short...One of my best friend is an extremly successful businessman. I arranged a meeting between the consulting company i work at and him. (the boss mentioned me to arrange such a meeting when he new he was my friend).In return, they did not invite me to the initial meeting i set up at his office (altough my friend told me to come as well but i did not tell that to my company)I was not invited to the follow up meetings that took place with the ceo of my friend's company.I only have 2.5 years of working experience, and i went to 2 meetings before that. I know that my friend did not tell them not to bring me. So, what are your views on this matter? am i acting too personal and sencitive?

You set up the meeting on business terms, not personal, so you're correct, you can't expect to be present at these meetings. If you were present, it might look as though your employer had a personal, and therefore suspect, interest in such a consulting company. These people MUST not look as though they're doing anything under the table, so I am not surprised that you're being excluded. Our company actually has a pretty strict policy about such things and that the person who does the recommending can't be involved in the transactions for the fact that it would look suspicious.So, don't be offended, they're just covering their tails, as they legally should.

You arranged it upon a request.Looks like the business aspect does not involve you. It does not reflect anything negative towards you, do not worry.

Yes you're being too personal and sensitive. The meeting was between your bosses and your friend because of his expertise in an area, it has really nothing to do with you. They asked you to use a contact that you had (you're friend could have always said "no"), but hey, you did your job and he did his job. Business is business and your still friends. Think of it this way, if your boss had asked you to recommend a doctor to him that you know would you expect to be in on the consultation and treatment? it's the same thing here.

Just be sure they don't blame you later on if the deal does not go through.
