He used to be huge...and he is still pretty big, but my cat has become very thin, 14 years old and only care about food...he pees allot and his bm's are sour and rancid smelling..his urine actually bubbles up like dish soap. He doesn't care to look out the window or go outside anymore like he used to when he was much younger...but he does still have a playful attitude...He seems very anxious and nervous always when I am in the kitchen preparing food..like he is starving, but he has always got his dry food...I also give him and he other 2 adult cats wet cat once a day...and he eats all of his and the rest of what they don't eat...I give him canned salmon too and he eats all of that...i just don't know why he is so skinny and frail and obsessed with food..please help?this is for Xavia...yes, he pukes but not every day..and his teeth are fine...i check them often...he can chew very well...so did you have your cat checked for worms? and the medicine the vet gave you didn't work yet? you can email me at aalwin@sbcglobal.net and i will tell you more and maybe we can even chat over the phone...my vet is out of town..i am on public aide and cannot just pick up my cat and rush him off to some strange vet...my vet lets me have credit plus i can walk there...it's pretty tricky taking a cat anywhere on foot..i have to carry him and he hates that and he loves to be outside so he claws me so hard to get loose ...he is very spunky for his age...so no i cannot just take him to any vet....Xavia please email me

If you want your cat to get better he is going to have to be stuck with needles and have any other tests performed on him. Its the only way to help him!!

All of those symptoms show that there is something VERY wrong with your cat.I know this is Sunday, but tomorrow morning, I'd call the vet as soon as they open.I see a lot of people here asking questions about if they should call a vet.I tend to answer:If it were you with these symptoms...would you go to the doctor? Or want someone to take you in?EDIT- For Xavia:No, this is NOT normal signs of aging.

It sounds like he may not be able to eat the dry food for some reason. Have his teeth checked out. If he is doing good on the wet food, try to give him more of that see if his weight picks up. Since this is an ongoing problem, you do need to see a vet. i'm sure the vet will be open tomorrow. You may not like you cat stuck with needles, but the alternatives is a dead cat soon if you don't take him in.

it sounds like worms you really need to call your vet they have pills some worms you cant see like tapeworms.if he has one it could hurt your cat the longer it is there.good luck!

It sounds to me that maybe he has worms take him to the vet in the morning because it may be something else

I have the same problem. My cat is 15yrs old. for about a year now he has lost LOTS of wieght. You can feel his backbone. His poop smells so bad and is peeing in places he normal never did. He goes crazy for food, like i starve him. He wants to eat way more then normal, this behavior just started when I gave him the medicine the vet gave me. The said his vital signs are all normal, except his intestines feel a bit harder then normal. I've been giving him the medicine for about a week now and just doesn't seem to be working =(One question.....does your cat puke alot or any? Mine does almost everyday. I don't knwo what to do. I'm getting fustrated with the Vet and he is like my son....i would hate to put him to sleep *crying*Is this just signs of aging cat?

He NEEDS to see a vet. Not he should, or it might be a good idea.YOUR CAT NEEDS TO GO TO A VET.Would you deny yourself or your kids medical treatment if their pee starte to bubble? No. You'd get yourself to a doctor.
